Thank you very much for your appreciation. But much credit for this poem should also go to you since this poem was composed after the inspirational discussion we had on the difficulties of writing about love.
Hi Amit. Your poem reminded me in some vague way of Sidney’s sonnet from ‘Astrophel and Stella : ‘Loving in Truth’, except that (hold your breath) I think this is infinitely better !
In a way, this poem, I feel, serves as a very witty parody of the canonised love poems we are all too familiar with from our academic background.
I must concede, to be fair, that I have rarely had so much fun in recent times while reading a poem…thank you !
Thank you Sangita and Gargi for your comments.
Pastiche is often used as a device of parody but in postmodernist terms a pastiche is rather respectful.
@ kaustubhad : Really sorry, I just happened to have mixed up the deadline of Palki 9 this time, the fallout of a currently very hectic schedule. Shall surely make up for this in the forthcoming issue of Palki.
I loved this poem. and I mean it. There’s this very playful and witty and realistic aura in the poem. I loved the style, the diction, the verses, the words..I am happy to have read it

Dear Amit,
A wonderful poem. I especially liked the Keatsian charm in it. This is one perfect classic, a true ode to love.
Cheers!
