I agree with Ankan. Monalisa’s so much drawn to Bengali, and her honest interest makes her deserve to interview a contemporary poet like Shreejato. Still, Oushnik is not wrong. To enjoy the essence of Shreejato’s creations & himself, one needs bengali words. Compare the lines..”Ovaaber dine dekho jeno ora beche thake chumu kheye” & “When we are hungry, love will keep us alive”. If I am not much mistaken, those of you who are familiar to Shreejato’s poetry & his inspirations, you will realise what I am talking about.

I thought about not even approving your comment as you failed to see the effort we made.
First of all, the lady who interviewed Shreejato is not even a bengali by origin. So, think how beautiful our language is to her. She started learning bengali few years back and she is now obsessed about the language. Truly she is the most “active” lady in our whole PALKI editorial team. She now writes in bengali and you can check her poems and prose by the name of “Monalisa Mukherjee”.

Also, Shreejato personally called that “non bengali” lady told her how happy he is about the whole article.

So. please, do not criticize just because she is not bengali. She is very good and we are entirely happy with her skills.

It does not take too much to hurt somebody, but it is always hard to please one.

Still, thanks for your comment as you spent and probably wasted some of your valuable time with us.

Well written! I’ve just finished watching video. Sreejato da really a nice person. now i’m really eager to read his books. thanks a lot
